Type your numbers. See the loaded cost of a tree crew, your break-even, the price to quote at your margin, and what pricing on markup instead is costing you. Free, no signup.
Send the result to yourself along with the free Job Pricing Starter — the same maths as a spreadsheet you can keep, in Excel or Google Sheets. No card, no trial.
No black box. Five steps, in order — check every one of them against your own job.
This page does one job at a time and forgets it. The spreadsheets keep every job, add the costs specific to your trade, work offline in Excel and Google Sheets, and are a one-time purchase — no subscription.
See the calculators →Work it from the cost up, not from what the last guy quoted. 5 hours at a loaded rate of $35.10 is $175.50 of labour, plus $40.00 of materials and $95.00 of overhead — a break-even of $310.50. Below that you paid to work. To keep 35 cents of every dollar you quote $310.50 / 0.65 = $477.69.
More than the wage. At $26.00 an hour with payroll tax, workers comp, liability insurance and paid time off adding about 35%, that tree crew costs you $35.10 an hour before any vehicle or equipment share. Pricing off $26.00 instead of $35.10 understates every quote you write — over 5 hours it is $45.50 you never billed.
Markup is a percentage of your cost; margin is a percentage of your price. Add 35% to a $310.50 job and you bill $419.18 — but the margin you actually keep is 25.9%, not 35%, because 35% / 1.35 = 25.9% every single time. Pricing for a real 35% margin bills $477.69. That is $58.52 on one job, and at 4 a week it is $12,171.60 a year.
Yes, and there is no signup. It runs entirely in your browser — the numbers you type never leave your phone or computer. You only give an email if you want the results and the free spreadsheet sent to you.
Then it is worth twenty minutes. I am not a contractor — I do the arithmetic. On the call you tell me how you price now, and at the end I tell you honestly whether a model built on your numbers would help you or whether this calculator is already enough. Both answers happen.
Book a 20-minute call →No cost and no obligation. What I will not promise you is more won jobs — a correct price sometimes loses work, and that is the method working, not a fault in it.
